I found out some news about LCD TV and how well Hitachi was able to bring a 1.5″ television to the market. There were many super thin LCD and Plasma tubes on display at CES 2008, but Hitachi is the first maker to deliver on the pledge. Without a doubt, there was a lot of engineering that went into producing this TV. Some of the engineering challenges were overcome while others may have proved disheartening. For instance, there is only one HDMI input included as the sole input port for video sources. Other challenges were apparent with audio output capability, and some input source sync issues. On the flip side, Hitachi has managed to produce this unit with a high quality LCD panel with good viewing angles, excellent video processing. But then again, after seeing all the specs and capabilities that this TV have, I must say it is more than enough to woo people in to buying this, and it surely got my attention. I guess this would be my next project for the house, and that is putting up a nice entertainment system in the living room with Hitachi’s LCD TV on the middle of it all, or at least until such time that I find something better.
